IS INTRAVITREAL BEVACIZUMAB SAFE?
Off-label intravitreal injections of bevacizumab have been performed for various neovascular and exudative ocular diseases in the last eighteen months. A survey of 70 centres from 12 countries reported on more than 7000 injections and did not document an increased rate of potential drug related ocular or systemic events.

BLOOD FLOW STUDIES IN ISCHEMIC OPTIC NEUROPATHY
Acute nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy is assumed to be a disorder related to perfusion anomalies along the anterior visual pathway. Pathology studies of this disorder have been few and far between. However, a study of 25 patients with coloured Doppler imaging clearly documented decreased blood flow velocities in the nasal posterior arteries and the central retinal arteries in patients with acute nonarteritic ischemic optic neuropathy as compared to controls.
