Modification of the tear function index and its use in the diagnosis of Sjögren's syndrome

Prepared strip (Pre-S) containing 1.3 μl of 0.5% fluorescein placed into inferior fornix 5 minutes after instilling 10 μl of 0.4% benoxinate into the same eye and 5 minutes after instilling 10 μl of 0.5% fluorescein diluted in 0.4% benoxinate into the fellow eye. Schirmer's test read after 5 minutes. A TCR of 1 reflects a concentration of fluorescein of 0.5% at 5 minutes. Log TFI is the natural logarithm
