    HOW LONG MUST YOU WAIT FOR CATARACT SURGERY?

    The demand for cataract surgery continues to increase, especially in developed countries with an ever increasing aging population. In a study of 10 European countries, Mojon-Azzi demonstrated that waiting times differ significantly between the 10 analysed European countries. Length of wait was most significantly influenced by the total expenditure on health in each country. It was not, however, affected by other country specific health indicators. See page 282
