1. Describe the findings on fundal photographs and fluorescein angiography

Fundal photographs revealed predominantly inferior swelling of the right optic disc with several peripapillary splinter haemorrhages and a small cotton wool spot adjacent to the disc. The left optic disc was moderately swollen with hyperaemia and occasional splinter haemorrhages as well as a cotton wool spot inferior to the disc (fig 1).

Fluorescein angiography (28.7 s, early arteriovenous phase) showed delayed optic disc filling as well as mild but definite delayed choroidal filling. There was normal retinal arterial and venous filling (fig 2).
