Malaise = any recorded systemic symptom (tiredness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, temperature intolerance) recorded in case notes, regardless of whether this necessitated change in treatment. Cramps = any muscle cramps recorded in case notes. Incr BP = rise in blood pressure sufficient to require change in treatment. Other = any other adverse effects recorded in case notes, regardless of whether this necessitated change in treatment: I = secondary infection (infectious keratitis), G = gingival hyperplasia, L = lymphopenia (transient in this case). Creat incr = raised level of plasma creatinine above 120 μmol/l; N = nil, Y = yes with duration specified.
