2021, Neurochemistry InternationalCitation Excerpt :Western blot analysis revealed that the expression of Pax6 and Sox2 was very low compared to human retina whereas expression of DCX was moderate (Fig. 3D). Nestin is a neuronal stem cell marker expressed in retinal progenitor cells (Klassen et al., 2004; Wiese et al., 2004; Yang et al., 2002). We did not observe the expression of Nestin in hPRCs at passage 3 (or later), or in the retina (Fig. 3D).
