The most extensively investigated polymorphism in MTHFR is C667T, in which its enzymatic activity decreases 30–40% in vitro [3,4]. Several retrospective clinical studies indicate that this polymorphic allele may have a protection role in colon cancer [7–9] and adult leukemia [11,12].
