2020, Kidney InternationalCitation Excerpt :The excellent clinical outcome highlights the feasibility and effectiveness of combined transplantation in young AApoAI adults. Renal involvement is a prominent common feature in different forms of acquired and hereditary amyloidosis,17 notably in fibrinogen A alpha chain (AFib),18 apolipoprotein A-II (AApoAII),19 lysozyme (ALyz),20 gelsolin (AGel),21,22 apolipoprotein C-III (AApoCIII),23 apolipoprotein C-II (AApoCII),24 and apolipoprotein A-I (AApoAI amyloidosis).9 Amyloid deposition can be seen in any of the parenchymal compartments, including glomeruli, tubulointerstitium, and vasculature, but glomeruli remain the most commonly affected structure.
