Teixeira and coworkers described a patient with bilateral diffuse anterior scleritis whose proteinuria decreased though persisted in nonnephrotic range (2.3 g/24h) and whose renal function remained stable after being treated with oral prednisolone (1 mg/kg/day) and antihypertensives.58 In a case of bilateral hypertensive ocular pseudovasculitis described by Wegmann-Burns and coworkers the treatment with antihypertensives and oral prednisolone returned blood pressure to a normal range, serum creatinine decreased from 1.93 mg/dL to 1.81 mg/dL and eGFR improved to 35.6 mL/min/1.73m2 from 33.0 mL/min/1.73m2.60 Yamabe and coworkers also reported an improvement in renal function and anterior uveitis upon the initiation of corticosteroids and unspecified immunosuppressants.64
