Do we need a retinal pigment epithelium (or choroid) for the maintenance of retinal apposition?
Abstract
The relative rarity of retinal detachment following extensive surgical resection of choroid and retinal pigment epithelium for choroidal malignant melanoma is discussed in relation to the factors maintaining retinal apposition under these circumstances.
