IS INTRAVITREAL BEVACIZUMAB SAFE?
Off-label intravitreal injections of bevacizumab have been performed for various neovascular and exudative ocular diseases in the last eighteen months. A survey of 70 centres from 12 countries reported on more than 7000 injections and did not document an increased rate of potential drug related ocular or systemic events. See p 1344
