MITOCHONDRIAL DNA CONTENT IN PATIENTS WITH NAION
The pathophysiology of non-arteritic ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION) is only incompletely understood. Abu-Amero and Bosley investigated 19 patients with NAION and, compared to a control group of 32, they found increased relative mitochondria DNA content in leucocytes in patients with NAION.
