AB This paper describes changes in the ultrastructure of the human conjunctiva which follows its denervation. The changes are mainly seen in the mucus-producing subsurface vesicles, the surface microvilli, and the intercellular spaces. Some tentative suggestions are made as to how these changes may influence the stability of the tear film in the anaesthetic state.
