METHODS: Thirty four infants (64 eyes) were treated with cryotherapy and 32 infants (59 eyes) underwent laser photocoagulation. RESULTS: Infants with anterior-mid zone II ROP had a high rate of disease regression whether treated by cryotherapy or laser photocoagulation. Infants with posterior zone II or zone I ROP had a 40% success rate with cryotherapy, and 87.5% when treated with laser photocoagulation. CONCLUSION: Evolving experience and changing management policies in infants with posterior ROP has led to improved results.
