For shrinkage of vitreous and/or reduction of aqueous production: | ||
β blocker | Twice daily (unless contraindicated) | |
Aproclonidine 0.5% | Twice daily (1% initial Rx for IOP control) | |
Acetazolamide | 250 mg four times daily (consider guttae dorzolamide for maintenance) | |
Glycerol (50% solution) | 0.5–1 ml per kg twice daily | |
Mannitol (intravenous) | 2 g per kg |
Continue for 4–5 days unless surgical intervention is necessary.
