↵Mice were challenged ocularly with 2×106 pfu/eye of HSV-1 McKrae as described in Materials and methods. Tears were collected from five mice (10 eyes) on the days indicated using a Dacron swab and plated on RS indicator cells to determine the presence of infectious virus. †Percentage eyes with detectable virus.
