Case labelDescription
DMODiabetic macular oedema (any severity) in one or both eyes.
CSDMO-SLSight loss (CVA <6/6) attributable to DMO, in at least one eye.
CSDMO-VICVA <6/6 to >6/60 attributable to DMO, in at least one eye. A subgroup of CSDMO-SL who are not blind. Considered as potential candidate for referral to hospital for assessment/treatment.
CSDMO-BLCVA ≤6/60 in both eyes, one or both attributable to DMO. A subgroup of CSDMO-SL, with blindness due to DMO. Considered as candidate for low vision and rehabilitation services, registration and social care.
CSDMO-PSCVA <6/19 to >6/60 in the better seeing eye, the impairment attributable to DMO in one or both eyes. The fellow eye may be equally affected or may have poorer vision. A subgroup of CSDMO-VI who may use social care, low vision and rehabilitation services, in addition to hospital assessment/treatment for DMO.
