†Symptoms (pruritus, burning/stinging, blurred vision, sticky eye sensation, eye dryness sensation, foreign body sensation) were graded by the patient according to the following scale: (0)=none, (1)=present but not disturbing, (2)=disturbing, (3)=very disturbing. The total score was calculated as the sum of symptom scores divided by the number of symptoms (thus ranging between 0 and 3).
