Conclusion
Since Aristotle, all sciences are founded on the concern for rationality which lies behind all biological research. Our time corresponds to an epistemological disruption which strives to understand. Laplacian determinism is giving way to a probability vision. The complexity of problems always defies the possibilities of calculation. One should ask whether the conception of the randomness of organization is essential, or simply the result of our ignorance of causes.
In the next 40 years, or perhaps even in the next 10 years, essentially all human genes will have been discovered, sequenced and listed in order. However, the greatest challenge is not to discover genes and their significance, but to analyse their function. Maybe the sciences of the nervous system, the sciences of the brain, cognitive psychology and the sciences of the mind will be unified. Is there a molecular biology of knowledge?
