Correlations Between Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer and Visual Field in Eyes With Nonarteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy
2007, American Journal of OphthalmologyCitation Excerpt :Trip and associates11 found marked correlations between VF loss and RNFL thickness in patients with optic neuritis after the first (and single) episode suggesting that axonal loss was responsible of visual impairment. Conversely, little information is available about the use of SLP technology in nonglaucomatous optic neuropathy.31,32 Nevertheless, these limited studies suggest that both imaging devices are potentially useful in quantifying RNFL in clinical conditions other than in glaucoma.
