For example, intravitreal injection of TNFα causes vascular permeability and subsequent inflammatory infiltrate (De Vos et al., 1995; Luna et al., 1997). TNFα and IFNγ and other mediators have been shown to be upregulated in experimental autoimmune uveoretinitis (Dick et al., 2004).
