Studies from the western countries have reported Aspergillus fumigatus as the predominant causative agent, while studies from Asia report A. flavus as the main cause, as is also evident in our study.2,3,14,15 In another study, authors proposed that A. flavus may be commonly found in immunocompetent patients, whereas A. fumigatus may be associated with an immunocompromised condition of the patients.16,17
