Abstract

In ophthalmology the fibrin sealing technique has been used in corneal, scleral, conjunctival and lens surgery, as well as in oculoplastic surgery, namely in lid surgery. Fibrin sealing of the anastomosis of the canaliculo-cystostomy in combination with silicone intubation is a new indication for fibrin sealing. In seven patients with stenosis of the canaliculus communis due to chronic inflammation this new technique was successfully used. Technique of operation, advantages and results of this method are described.
